Vapiano in Karlsruhe

Cool environment with great food.

We were there before the second lock down yesterday, good hygiene concept, at the table we had to wait longer for the waitress to order anything at all and unfortunately much longer for the food. It finally came with the wrong noodles although it was recorded correctly and the wrong dressing although it was also recorded correctly and all of this with half the table occupied, which was actually cozy. I have no idea how they used to do it with a full house. It's a shame actually.

Mega nice, very large restaurant! Were there during Corona and were therefore served at the table. Very nice staff and everything else was great!

No longer the VAPIANO that I used to know! The quality of the dishes has deteriorated very much, small portions, insecure staff, long waiting times at the tables until you are finally served and not even a salt and pepper shaker on the tables for seasoning. Today I was unfortunately immensely disappointed with the vegan pizza and I am of the opinion that one should not offer the kind of pizza I got on the table today (see picture). Price-performance is definitely not in proportion for a whopping 9.90 euros! In addition, the toilets were littered, the soap dispensers broken and the paper just thrown next to the sink. I am very disappointed as I really enjoyed being a customer there years ago. From today it was the last time ..... a shame!

You look forward so much to the reopening and then experience such a great disappointment. As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel a very bad mood. The guests dissatisfied, the staff overloaded, unfriendly and annoyed. We waited 20 minutes to place our order and then left. If that doesn't change drastically, I'll see red. A real shame!

I actually like to eat at Vapiano. We were accompanied to the table and it was said that we would be served soon. Sat for half an hour, still not served. I would understand if there had been a lot going on, but customers who came after us were served.

It is now open again, but you no longer order directly at the counter, but are served theoretically. After the waitress brought us to the table and gave us French (?) Cards, he didn't come back after 20 minutes to take the order, although we made eye contact several times and reported us. Seems to be very messy. Then left ... especially the prices (as high as in restaurants with actual service) are in my opinion inappropriate. Unfortunately, I can't say anything about the taste.

Great place for dinner

A bit mixed up with the new concept. The cellar seemed a bit inexperienced, we hadn't got the food we ordered. The food had the usual Vapiano quality. Otherwise nice staff.

The food was cold, one meal was missing, the waitresses are rude, we were served the wrong pasta, the wrong pizza, and the wrong pizza topping, the waitress could hardly communicate in German, the salads were hardly turned on, the soup was also cold, you wait forever ... At least the gluten free pizza was really gluten free.

The newly introduced service is simply not available. We picked up drinks ourselves at the counter, as well as salt and pepper. Food was unfortunately worse than usual.

My first time there. The ginger soda was good, the pizzas too. Waiting time appropriate. There are power outlets in the lounge upstairs.

We were there on September 18, 2020 in the late evening. The staff at the front desk and waiters were friendly. Hopefully the new concept works better. I give minus points to the employee in the salad area: After the food was brought there was no salt, pepper, etc. on the table and I couldn't find a waiter. So I went to the salad hedge myself and got some salt. A slim, rather tall guy in the salad area addressed me rudely and aggressively and said that I couldn't go there. Because of the bad tone, I actually don't want to visit Vapiano anymore. You can see that the new owners are trying to make positive changes. It is a pity that rude employees put these efforts at a disadvantage.

We wanted to use our city trip today and go out to eat together at VAPIANO. The reception was still very friendly and we were told that the concept had been changed due to Corona and that we would be served at the seat. The menu could be downloaded via the mobile phone and someone would come straight away to take the order. So we were accompanied to a table and we were told that someone would take care of us shortly. But somehow nothing came of it, we (two adults and two children) sat in an almost empty restaurant with at least 10 employees (6 behind the former order counters and 4 waiters), but no one paid us any attention or felt responsible for us. So we left the restaurant after waiting 15 minutes to eat somewhere else. It is a shame for a company that is in financial difficulties not to take care of its guests. In conclusion, I just have to say that there are other restaurants in Karlsruhe that are happy to serve a guest and pay attention to them, especially at these times .....

As a student we used to eat here a lot. It is a bit like a cafeteria, but with a better atmosphere. Food is okay so far. It is very easy to reach because it is behind Europaplatz. Restaurant is in a very nice building. You pay there with a Vapiano card, which you get when you enter. This means that the card is used when ordering.

Was here today at 6pm and wanted a cozy meal ... what I was offered was a police operation without food and with many questions ?? .. I would like Vapiano to let me know next time I am eating illegally ?????

Compared with others Vapiano this was really calm.

To expensive for the food you get. The chilioil on the table was rotting, but they were not interessteg when I told them about it

Its more of a 3.5 in stars I was there 3 times over the last weeks and I gotta say the food tastes good. It's different than actual Italian food, but is good. The service was ok, the first two times I was there I got my salad from a girl named Angela (I belive that was her name) the salad was pretty good that's why I decided to return for the third time. Sadly the last time I was there the salad wasn't as good (it was a different person serving it). Reading some reviews and my personal experience I see that your experience depends a lot on who's on their shift. It shouldn't be like that. Pros: Taste is good Big portions Great place and location Staff Cons: Price is a bit high for self service Staff Long waiting lines with no chance to sit I listed staff in both pros and cons because that's how my experience was... sometimes good, other time not so good

It was better once, therefore only 3 stars. Mainly a minus point that the portions are now much smaller. Still recommended if you want to eat something "healthy" quickly.

Being an Italian student in Karlsruhe I have to be honest. The food tastes okay, but it's definitely not Italian food. It has a similar basis but the ingredients are mixed with a German-style spicy aftertaste that has little to do with the traditional Italian taste. The salads are pretty good.

We were a group of 4 from London here in Karlsruhe for work. We wanted a good night out.. We were wrong. First of all i would like to say it was very busy! in saying that The tables were not clean. the kitchen were in a bad mood..the food wasn't that nice, pizza burnt.. Where was the Manager????? The only 2 workers I can say who I saw working and trying to make everyone happy was the girl (Marina) on the checkout and the man (Michael)behind the bar! The girl was very sweet and kept saying sorry. The man he was everywhere.. he was so overworked i was afarid he would just faint ,he never stopped,kept running around Bar, service, checkout. When I was at the checkout the i wanted to speak to a MANAGER she said she would get her manager.. I thought finally I can speak to him/her. Then the man from the bar came over .. he explained, he was also a manager in training. He was so nice.. to bad he wasn't in charge last night because I know for a fact it would have been very different outcome. I would be worried if i was vapiano because if I had a restaurant I would offer him to come work for me! Maybe he should look for a better place to work at because I can see he and the girl at to good for vapiano. So 10 STARS For THE GIRL (Marina)AND THE BAR/MANAGER MANN (Michael)1 STAR FOR THE REAL MANAGER for letting their team down!

Boring, dull and pricy "Italian" restaurant, with average pasta at best. I only recommend going here if you have picky friends and you really don't know where to have food at. Otherwise, spend some time researching and go somewhere else.

Always a pleasure

Food was nice enough, however there were two major things that really annoyed me. First the person greeting everyone at the door had no English, other customers had to step in and help me out. Second and the most important one!!!! Only half way through my glass of wine I realized there were about 5+ fruit flies in it! The place is very dark and God knows how many of them I had eaten ( I really hope none). Anyway, I knew vapiano as a nice enough restaurant from visiting it in the Netherlands, I was extremely disappointed during this visit.

You will always find something good at Vapiano.Pasta, salads, pizza the place has delicious food in a very relaxed mode of self service and a very nice ambiente

I liked Vapiano, but this one specifically has was something happening. Or some ingredients are missing, or there too less people for too much work...

one out of 2 places in Karlsruhe where u can eat glutenfree so i m forced to give min 4 stars, i eat at least once a month there and at least 9 of the 12 pizzas a year are good, one lacked topings, the other were dry or tasteless

It’s fine. The waiting time in these is pretty long especially if you’re going to a big one like this one. The food tastes good but it’s nothing special for an Italian chain.

Very bad and over priced. The food we ordered was gritty and it was not at all the basic quality you expect.

Food was tasty and not really expensive. They have a weird system for pizzas where they give you a pager-like device which vibrates when your order is ready and the first time I went there I was a little weirded out by it. Rest of the food types you order and receive soon after. The atmosphere is okay, nothing mind-blowing though.

I explicitly said without pepper and he just kept putting it in and it was horrible.
